oh i do love my make-up! made a few new purchases recently…
this is my MAC Pro Longwear foundation. This is my first MAC foundation as i used maybelline previously, but now i’ve gone MAC i won’t be going back! (hah, sorry i had to) its SPF 10 and goes on like a dream! i use a no7 foundation brush to apply and i’m really pleased with the coverage and it still looks natural. wiiiiner!
i have loved the models own brand for a while now and this eyeshadow shading brush, lashes and eyeshadow in ‘Moca’ was only £5 on ASOS. larvely! i would recommend all products and at that price, snap ‘em up!
these are the newest products to my make-up box, and its my nod to the Spring/Summer block colour trend that has been all over the fashion shows recently. I’ll admit that my wardrobe staple is black black black, so if like me you’re a bit nervous introducing S/S/11 vibrant colours into you’re attire, start slowly with adding a pop of colour with your nails! here i’ve gone for Rimmel’s ‘280 Sunshine’ and ‘825 Sky High’ not normally colours i’d go for, but thats the point.
i seen Jameela Jamil rocking sunshine yellow nails this week, and thought i’d give it a go myself. i’ll give you my final verdict at a later date.
this is so hard! as my dissertation is about fashion blogs, i have the pleasure of going through so many little gems, i constantly find new favourites. all in the name of research! ;)
i’d probably say my most visited of last year were;
fashiontoast.com. created by Southern Californian beauty Rumi Neely. her blog is beautiful, her life is really interesting and the jobs shes involved with makes any fashion lover green with pure envy! i could spend hours scrolling through her photographs, i find her blog truely inspiring.
even though its just meant to be one, i’ll squeeze in a second because i love it so much.
morven-catsandrockingchairs.blogspot.com/ i’ve mentioned this particular blog on here before now. this is the cutest blog by Morven, Scottish fashionista with her daily musings, personal styles and guests appearances from her charming cats. I love this blog as i find her really relate-able; and have a major style crush on her, her clothes are faaaab.
if you haven’t already, check ‘em out! happy blogging!
everything is so beautiful! the entire collection is feminine, floaty and romantic yet with the classic tailored element Chanel always brings. I hope this is a sign of what’s to come with regards to spring/summer fashion, particularly all the sheer. love it.
This is my beautiful Vogue 2011 diary that i finally got round to purchasing last week (no excuses now, life must be organised!). Complete with vintage Vogue illustrations, the cover is from late January 1922.
this makes even writing in deadlines and dentist appointments beautiful.
“the bottom of the stairs to your bedroom looks like vivienne westwood’s shop!”—… my dad moaning about the copious amount of shoes and general items of clothing currently residing outside my bedroom. haha.
want want want need! anyone want to lend me £159 so these Reiss beauties can be in my life?! please?
anyway, hello! hope you are all well. a hectic week in the life of alexalamode. long gone is the warm festive blanket i could hide under, away from reality. As, alas, it has been cruelly snatched away and i find myself back in the cold and chaotic real world. this includes revision, exams, essaying (a 4000word television research project no less!) and dissertation sessions. although the last one isn’t too bad as part of my ‘research’ is reading through lots of lovely blogs! im finding new favourites everyday!
also, my new ‘professional’ camera tripod arrived today so expect some new exciting posts when i get a chance! blogging ahoy!
just taking a break from my essaying schedule, note to self; typed words to biscuit ratio isn’t looking good!
first post of the new year! hope you had a wonderful new year’s eve.
im going to do a recent purchase/outfits post as i haven’t for a while!
slipping a bit of spring into my winter wardrobe, with this cute floral dress from topshop. i really love the colours and the print is so lovely. good to wear with tights because its still cold, and i can keep it to wear when it starts getting sunny and warm :)
again from topshop, with a peter pan collar and polka dots i couldn’t resist!
next is my amazing sparkly socks from urban outfitters, i have been looking for a pair for a while and spotted these in the edinburgh store (which i could have spent a lot of time & money in!)
i have also spent a little bit of time in the january sales and hated every minute, clothes covering the floor, people pushing and shoving. no thank-you! can’t wait until they’re over.
